Clinical Research Career
Development Opportunity at Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland
Clinic Foundation
The K12 Multidisciplinary Clinical Research
Training Program (MCRTP) was developed as part of the NIH Roadmap
initiative to “re-engineer the clinical research enterprise.” The
MCRTP is soliciting applications for its fourth group of Clinical
Research Scholars. The Case/Cleveland Clinic MCRTP seeks outstanding
candidates to fill 5 Clinical Research Scholar positions beginning
July 2008. We are particularly interested in receiving applications
from minority candidates. On-line applications will be accepted
until COB November 7, 2007.
The award is intended for individuals at a relatively early stage of
training (e.g. just after the PhD degree, during, or immediately
following a clinical fellowship, or within the early years of the
professional staff appointment). Qualified candidates will hold an
MD, PhD or equivalent degree, and have demonstrated interest in
careers that focus on patient oriented or translational research.
We are interested in a diverse group of Scholars and invite
applications from physicians, nurses, dentists, social and
behavioral scientists, engineers, biostatisticians, epidemiologists,
bioethicists, and other professionals with expertise relevant to
clinical research.
Successful candidates will receive salary and benefits commensurate
with prior experience and qualifications, research stipend, tuition
benefits, and access to a multidisciplinary pool of highly qualified
mentors who will help guide their research projects. Each
selected="true" Scholar will embark on a 3- year to 4- year program
of intensive training in multidisciplinary team-based
patient-oriented research, combining a novel curriculum leading to
an advanced degree in clinical research with a mentored research
experiences. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have permanent
resident status. For further information and application
