The School of Social
Sciences, Humanities and Arts of the University of California at Merced
invites applications at the Associate Professor or Professor (tenured) level
in socio-cultural anthropology with a focus on medical anthropology. The
theoretical and geographical areas of specialization are open, but We seek a
distinguished scholar with an active research program and strong record of
scholarship. The successful applicant will contribute to undergraduate and
graduate teaching and provide leadership to the anthropology program that
emphasizes sub-field integration. We seek a colleague who can provide an
anthropological perspective to the planning of our medical school and
cross-campus health-related-curriculum. Preference will be given to
candidates with a commitment to interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary
research and education, California issues, and/or community-university
collaborations.
